Acoustic Jamband
I guess it's not really a "band," as such. The "acoustic jamband" came together one night at the Cyber Cafe in Binghamton when our drummer couldn't make it to a Sol Dog show. What wound up happening was that Ron and I decided to do the gig as a Rev and Ron Acoustic Duo show, which we had done in Binghamton once before, but then decided that, since my time in Sol Dog was winding down, maybe something a little more energetic was in order. So we kept Curtis on the gig (bass player with Sol Dog) and hired our good friend Bmaxwell Bardo to fill in as a drummer. We still liked the idea of playing acoustic, though, so we hired Bmax not to play a regular drum kit but to play hand drums and maracas and tambourine and stuff like that.

Just like with the Rev and Ron Acoustic Duo, we were blown away by how much fun we had, how musical an experience it was, and how much everybody enjoyed us playing that way. The sound was very soulful and natural, with a sort of a funky hippie vibe, but at the same time, it was very danceable. I'm hoping to book this group somewhere in CT sometime soon.

The acoustic jamband set list is  pretty much the same as a Rev and Ron Acoustic Duo set, consisting of covers and originals. Like with the acoustic duo, the material we wrote for Sol Dog is stripped down, simplified, and very different... But we think in a very enjoyable way. I'm looking into getting an upcoming acoustic jamband show recorded. Hopefully some of that material will make it onto this site, and I may make some available for download, so check back! Maybe we'll even name it soon.

If you get a chance to see the acoustic jamband, I highly recommend that you check us out.
